Historical buildings, churches, and museums.
Your first unforgettable image of Bosa will be the historic neighborhood of sa Costa, a charming collection of colorful houses that climb up the slopes of the Serravalle hill, dominated by the Malaspina castle dating back to the 12th century. From above, you can admire the entire town and its beauty.
The poetic Lungotemo with the Ponte Vecchio crossing the Temo, the only navigable river in Sardinia, will accompany your walks to discover the ancient tanneries. Also worth visiting is the Museum of Tanneries where you can discover the original settings of the ancient tanneries and admire the artifacts made with precious handmade leather.
Inside the village of Bosa, you cannot miss the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the city's cathedral, and its beautiful frescoes. Inside the walls of the castle stands the Church of Our Lady of Sos Regnos Altos, embellished with a cycle of paintings dating back to 1370: here, the most suggestive celebrations of the Bosa year take place at the end of September.
Vicino al centro abitato, nella località campestre di Calmedia, sorge anche la chiesa romanica di San Pietro extra muros che in origine era il centro della Bosa vetus prima che la popolazione trasmigrasse nel quartiere di sa Costa (Bosa nova). Qui potrai ammirare sa funtana manna, monumento ottocentesco in trachite rossa.
